IN MEMORY OF JAMES S. POLLACK, M.D.
1945 - 2005

We are truly saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend, Dr. James Pollack. His family, his friends, his patients and his co-workers will truly miss this kind, dear gentleman. He was loved by many and will never, ever be forgotten. God bless him.

It has been a very exciting and busy year for the BCIR program. Our new 17-bed unit has opened. The rooms are large and spacious with a home environment including new furniture and a desk, wireless computer access and a flat screen TV. Yes our surroundings have changed but the medical staff, nursing, and support staff has stayed the same.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was very emotional but uplifting at the same time. We traveled down memory lane bringing lots of tears and fond memories of both Dr. Barnett and Dr. Pollack. A plaque was presented to the Quality Life Association (QLA) members in attendance. The plaque that is prominently displayed in the entrance of the unit reads:
"In Loving Memory of two men who dedicated their professional lives to further the quality of life for those who suffered from Inflammatory Bowel Disease"
